Song of Eru:
Enjoy the
earth, thats its purpose
to provide
shelter, your lifes worth it.
I create
the sun, and I create the stars
So my
lovely creatures see how beautiful things are.
The waters
sing and the mountains rise
Their
echoes dance under and in the skies.
All hearts
shall unite, as that is my will.
Trust in
me, Eru can overcome any hill.
This is a
symphony of peace, and eternal rhymes.
I unite
all, with my thunderous chimes.
Each note
I create holds love and grace.
Your
purpose is to appreciate the beauty of this place.
And so, I
make my vision take flight.
It runs
with the animals of the day, and the creatures of night.
All that
hear, stop moving around
Sing the
song of Eru, and sing it loud.
Song of Melkor
Brothers
and Sisters, I know we sing nice,
But we
have free will, lets change the chyme,
Yes our
lord has created a nice symphony,
But let me
lead, and see the beauty in my melody,
Its truly
unfair, it raises my hair,
The
melodies in my mind are things the world should hear,
One stands
in my way, and we know his name,
It’s a shame,
and why am I the only one who complains
So I will
tear the world apart, and shatter any
heart,
As I am just
as good as eru, but no one lets me start
I will
defy our, “sacred” , tune
In order
to control all, earth, the stars and the moon.
Despite
the discord, I will continue to demand
Any who
sings my song to follow my command.

Eru’s Song
Instrumental: Ayonha
Melkors Song Instrumental : JPEGMAFIA
- CULT STATUS - Instrumental
Explanation for Lyrics and Instrumental Beats:
In Eru's song, I
chose the lyrics I used because I feel like they communicate a positive message
centered around solidarity and appreciation. Eru seems like the type of deity
that is concerned with his creations appreciating what he makes and them living
together peacefully. The lyrics I chose emphasize this, with lines like “Your
purpose is to appreciate the beauty of this place” blatantly communicating my
belief that Eru wants his subjects to appreciate Middle-earth and the universe.
With Melkor's song, I wanted to communicate Melkor's arrogance and his
aspirations to be the almighty, second to none, and more powerful than Eru. I
also wanted to focus on his jealousy and growing hatred due to not being in
charge. I did this with lines like “I am just as good as Eru, but no one lets
me start” and “But let me lead, and see the beauty in my melody.” These
excerpts communicate Erus's burning desire to lead the symphony and the
jealousy and hatred that arise because he is not allowed to. In terms of the
instrumentals, I chose the instrumental version of Hamid El Shaeri – Ayonha for
Erus's song and the instrumental version of JPEGMAFIA - CULT STATUS. I chose
Ayonha for Eru’s song because it is a peaceful melody that fits the theme of
solidarity and coming together, things I believe Eru prioritizes with his
creations. I chose Jpegmafia’s “Cult Status” instrumental because it is a
melody of discord and is what I imagine Eru’s melody started to turn into once
Melkor started trying to make it his.
I love how in Eru's song, the theme of unity and peace really stands out! His song also uses very positive words, and it adds to the idea that Eru is focused on making Arda as beautiful as possible for his Children. As for Melkor's song, you can clearly see his selfish attitude as a majority of the lyrics are about himself and his jealousy. Both songs are really well written!
ReplyDeleteI think that you did a great job of showing the different personalities of Eru and Melkor. By reading these lyrics, I really get a glimpse into who these characters are and what their priorities are. You can see that Eru wants what is best for its creation, and doesn't care about power. In Melkor's song, you can hear the jealousy that fuels him, and see that his intentions are not pure.
